A crisp fall day set the backdrop for Kelsey and Paul’s beautiful tented wedding at one of the many Willistown Conservation Trust conserved private properties. Their wedding ceremony was set up on top of a hill facing a majestic tree overlooking the picturesque Kirkwood Preserve. The Terrain Design team created a meadowscape; living aisle decor was planted into the earth. This thoughtful feature created a natural entrance for guests to walk through as they took their seats. Kelsey and Paul’s touching wedding ceremony was anchored by nature, love, and a beautiful touch of whimsy.

Bright sunshine filtered through the horse stables as guests gathered for the cocktail hour featuring custom cocktails crafted by 13th Street Cocktails. Served from a retrofitted horse trailer to match the setting, ‘His’ drink was a Fresh Mule, ‘Hers’ a Paloma, and our contribution was the Tritium Bomb. Max Hansen Caterer created a beautiful selection of butlered and stationary hors d’oeuvres. The family horses were relaxing in their stalls during this time, for guests to visit with and feed them carrots. It was truly a unique and festive venue for the cocktail hour.

We worked closely with Matthew Muscarella, who leads the Terrain Design team. They created a warm and inviting environment for the reception by adorning the Sperry Tent with exquisite details: delicate silver greenery and blooms in hues of dusty grays and blues, cream, dusty rose, and warm muted orange. Lounges and bars were placed on the perimeter of the tent creating relaxing areas for the guests to lounge after dinner. At the conclusion of the toast made by the father of the bride, he surprised the bride and groom with a family tradition: a shot of Fireball Whisky was served to each guest, followed by trays of swiss cheese for the cheers. We love being able to incorporate family traditions into our clients’ weddings, they make everything so much more memorable and real.

As the evening continued, we set up the after-party in the family’s apple orchard where they enjoyed the Shake Shack truck and sat around fire pits and beneath blankets to keep warm in the cool autumn air.

We are so proud to have been a part of Kelsey and Paul’s momentous day and wish them much love in their future together.
